The Crown Jewels Gone Mad

A quick post with loads of images today.
Yesterday's workshop for the Living Threads group was a full on, over the top day with the fusible Angelina fibres. The day was called 'The Crown Jewels Gone Mad', after a commission I made in which the brief was exactly that!

The commission looked like this:

Using the colour changing, sculptural and melting properties of the fusible Angelina fibres combined with stitch, beads and wires led to other experiments:

After spending the morning trying out techniques including embossing, sculpting, burning and soldering, everyone began to create their piece using a combination of the ideas. These will all will have further stitching, beading and more Angelina before they are finished, you just have to put your imagining hat on to see the finished results. Well done all for going mad with Angelina.
